Pacific Islands Institute believes in the impact of educational travel in broadening perspectives through authentic experiences and interpersonal connection. However, we recognize the role that travel, particularly remote Oceanic travel, can have on the environment.
In order to mitigate negative environmental impacts, PII has implemented several waste, energy, and water reduction measures in both its office operations and on it’s flagship tour programs. Where reductions are not possible, PII aims to offset the carbon emissions of its flagship tours through high-integrity carbon credits which support environmental protection, carbon sequestration, and energy efficiency programs around the world.
