Solomon Islands

The people of the Solomon Islands still practice a traditional way of life, preferring to respect the old customs and traditions and to maintain and preserve their beautiful environment.  The 990+ coral atolls and mountainous islands are covered with tropical rain forest and are separated by spectacular tropical lagoons, including the world’s largest, Marovo.  The lagoons are filled with stunning coral reefs and colorful marine life, much of which is unknown elsewhere.

Topics of special interest include terrestrial and marine biology, indigenous cultures, and World War II history.
